Happy Diwali Paint night!
I signed up for the Diwali Paint Night event at the Purdue Graduate Student Center during mental health week. When I signed up, I only saw the word "paint". Although I didn't quite understand what the word "diwali" meant, I thought it was probably about painting something.
So when I arrived at the event and saw three small ceramic bowls on the table, I thought they were used to hold materials. It wasn't until the Indian girl next to me started painting the small bowls that I realized: Wait, am I going to paint materials on this clay bowl! ?
I checked on the website. Diwali is the most popular traditional festival. In order to welcome the godness Lakshmi, Indian people will decorate their houses with bright colors. Lakshmi is the goddess of happiness and wealth, two of my favorite things, haha. I was so lucky to participate in this event by accident.
Two hours passed quickly. While I was concentrating on drawing the patterns, I felt that I was only focused on drawing the patterns and no longer thinking about my daily troubles. No wonder this activity was arranged during the mental health week. But I have to say that it is not easy to draw this pattern well. The Indian girls at the same table have amazing talents in art! Finally, we put the painted clay bowls together and took photos.
I painted these three pottery bowls myself. I am very satisfied with the results of my first diwali paint!
There is also a very delicious Indian meal. I really like Indian food. This dark sauce is called tamarind sauce, which is amazingly delicious! The Indian girl at the same table told me that I can buy it at a store called mango mango, opposite which is a store selling Indian products. I must buy a can for myself!
Goddess Lakshmi blesses me. This night's activity really brought me happiness!(*^▽^*)
Wow, you panited the small bowl! It looks really beautiful.
